John wrote a post about whether or not the U.S. is becoming more or less moral a couple of weeks ago. This post leads one to ask if change needs to happen on the individual level. To a certain extent, I and others I have asked believe it needs to happen on the individual level. However, where does one go for guidance on how to change for a better life when we are surrounded by sensational mass media that leads us astray?
This is where The Foundation for a Better Life comes into the picture. The Foundation for a Better Life is a non-profit based in Colorado that is dedicated to sharing the values that make a difference in our communities. The “Foundation wants to remind individuals they are accountable and empowered with the ability to take responsibility for their lives and to promote a set of values that sees them through their failures and capitalizes on their successes. An individual who takes responsibility for his or her actions will take care of his or her family, job, community, and country.”
Some of the values that the Foundation espouses are Ambition, Compassion, Commitment, Gratitude, Courage, Courtesy, Honesty, Humilty, Integrity, Tolerance, Trust, and Vision. You may have seen some of their billboards when you are driving on the freeways. (Pictured on left.) This foundation is having a tremendous impact on those who see their media. As one reviewer (Ian S., Queensland, Australia) writes on the foundation’s website, “Hope is a vision of great things to come. Being at peace with oneself is a state of being content that life’s vision has been achieved. God bless this site.“ And, it seems that this foundation is filling a great need in society.
If you like the foundation’s messages, you can sign up to receive a daily quote in your inbox. Once a week, PosiPeople will post one of their quotes on the blog to assist in this effort.
Do you know of any other organizations that have a similar focus and impact as the Foundation for a Better Life?
Disclosure: At the time of the writing of this post, I have no financial relationships with any of the organizations mentioned.
